After 200 Years of Gender Parity in the US, It’s Time for a Human-Centric Approach to Work

"At the current rate of change, the U.S. is slightly over 200 years away from achieving gender parity."

What a sobering factoid presented as part of the BCCWF's briefing on women's career advancement. Though not surprising, since we're still operating in hierarchical, masculine structures of work that aren't serving the majority of us - regardless of gender.

Hot take: unless we flip the way we work on its head and adopt a more human approach to leadership (purpose driven, collaborative, and cooperative - all necessary in today's highly adaptive world), then even if we do achieve parity it won't be by allowing women (or any gender, ethnicity, or race) to be their best or most authentic selves. Let's keep fighting the good fight, y'all!
